Welcoming New Clients from a Recent Acquisition

It's always great to get a list of new clients where you can start over and start to learn their needs and expectations. Passageways recently acquired EBS and with that we got a lot of new clients who use the Instant Intranet Builder ( IIB ) product line we inherited.

We are busy making arrangements to welcome these clients into our fold, and start to work with these clients actively. I also want to congratulate Trumark Financial Credit Union for welcoming this news and becoming the early adopter, or lets just say, early beneficiary from this acquisition.

Personally, I feel this is another indicator on how portals will continue to thrive and intranet software will need to be upgraded at double speed to become more collaborative.

For the moment its a lot of discussions and some important meetings, so if you are in EBS client using IIB, be sure to expect us to reach out and get this transaction rolling!

IIB was a cheaper product than yours.

It seems like this move was to take away a competitor and acquire customers pretty cheaply.

Do you plan to force IIB customers to use your offering?

How long will you support IIB?

Did you acquire any staff or are your staff just left scrambling to support IIB?

Please provide the facts in response and not some unclear answer that protects what your real intentions are here.

While we understand the concern and thought process there, we work closely with our clients. This acquisition will not be disruptive and the future course of action will be charted out working with customers here. Please feel free to schedule a call and we'll be happy to look at your specific needs. Unfortunately we can't answer this without knowing the details on your project.

Thanks for your comments.

Are you kidding me? My questions can clearly be answered without "taking it offline."

Your response pretty much tells everyone that you have no intentions of supporting IIB for anything but the short term.

Blogs are supposed to be for open and candid communications.

How about trying your response again or let your current response speak volumes for your true intentions here and for this blog in general.

Here it is then...Passageways will continue to support this EBS productline for the next 2-3 years timeline but we are planning on major upgrades so the productline does keep up with the technology advancements. Beyond this timeframe, we remain optimistic about this productline but the market will dictate our future course.

In fact, Passageways is busy working out a joint venture to enable all this on the EBS productline as we feel that the intranet business does have a lot of potential, especially in the non-financial industry space as Passageways does not offer its own portal product there.

In case you are a bank or a credit union, then we also offer our Portal product at a severe discount so you can benefit from our last 5 years of work which has made us a leader in the financial industry.

If you are serious about this project, I encourage you to contact us directly and you'll see how we are welcoming all EBS clients. In fact atleast 7 EBS clients are well on their way to turn a corner and benefit from this acquisition.

I will fess up here, I don't believe you are a current EBS client as your comments seem like you are more interested in finding a way to expose the true intention here....I hope you contact us and prove me wrong. I'll wait for a phone call :)

Well, I for one am happy to see that you have a clear plan and an idea of how to integrate your existing product line with the new product. Unlike the obviously irritated post before, I am more interested in how your team will integrate your current technology into the new line. You mentioned that you were interested in upgrading the IIB product, could you elaborate on that?

Also, the first comment from the irritated anonymous poster said that IIB was a competitor, that doesn't seem quite true as you are mostly in the financial arena, aren't you?

Finally, are there provisions in place that address the needs of the current customer base of IIB, in regards to upgrades and / or transitioning to the portal software?
