Passageways Offers “Free” Application to Support Local
and National Charities
West Lafayette, IN. May 30th, 2008 – Passageways, a West Lafayette, Ind.-based portal solutions provider for almost 150 financial institutions, launched a new product at its fourth annual Advanced User and Developer Conference May 7-9, 2008 at the W Hotel in Chicago. In an effort to apply its knowledge and experience in the portal software industry to its philanthropic efforts, Passageways has developed a portal application that has been specifically tailored to facilitate charitable giving.
The application is being offered with a “name your price” method, allowing organizations to choose how much they would like to “pay” for the application. Whatever the named price becomes will be donated in its entirety to the following four charities pre-chosen by Passageways’ employees:

- YWCA (local Lafayette/West Lafayette chapter)
- Children's Miracle Network
- American Heart Association
- American Cancer Society
Attendees at PowWOW 2008 were given purchase agreements which allowed them to determine the “price” of the application. Five organizations signed the purchase agreement before PowWOW was over, and to date there have been a total of nine organizations who have “purchased” the application with a total of $6,300 raised. The goal Passageways team has for this year is to raise $15,000 and the initiative seems to be off to a good start.
The Auction Manager Application, developed by Passageways, consists of two islands and a “Module Administration Tool” that allows Financial Institutions to easily manage an auction inside the Passageways Portal Framework.
Shannon White, former Passageways employee and current Executive Director of the Greater Lafayette Chapter of the YWCA was pleased to hear about Passageways’ philanthropic efforts. “To me philanthropy is all about making a positive difference in the world by devoting your resources and your time to causes you believe in.
