  • Developer/Technical Sessions Track (6 sessions)

      1. Portal APIs, Libraries, Web Services & JQuery

        Who should attend: Software Developers (ASP.NET, C#)

        Overview of all the libraries available to developers when programming against the portal framework. This includes programming client-side javascript using the new JQuery and JQuery UI libraries, server-side APIs to access databases, obtain user information, and add to user feeds and alerts. The new external APIs used for applications running outside the portal that want to integrate with the portal through the new set of web services will be outlined and demonstrated as well.

      2. Web Controls for Developers

        Who should attend: Software Developers (ASP.NET, C#)

        Introduction to the many new web controls developers can take advantage of to bring improved consistency to their modules and also develop business applications faster. Some of the controls to be covered include the new JQuery-based Portal DateTime picker, Page Header, Toolbar, Portal Grid, Tabs, User Link, User Picture, and more! Examples of how to use each control will be demonstrated.

      3. Extending Existing Modules

        Who should attend: Software Developers (ASP.NET, C#)

        A series of demonstrations will demonstrate several new ways of extending modules including using Portal events, Provider interfaces, and more. Some examples include building a data provider for the Dashboards module to show Gauges from your own custom data sources, and custom form fields in the Form Designer Module.

      4. Designing and Writing Reports in the Portal

        Who should attend: Software Developers (ASP.NET, C#)

        Demonstrations of the reporting functionality and examples of different reports that can be built in the portal. Also covered will be how to control permissions to reports and what information can be accessed in the portal and modules for reporting.

      5. Introduction to HTML and SQL Server

        Who should attend: IT Managers, Portal Administrators, Content Managers

        Overview of HTML tags commonly used in the portal and on the Internet. Useful HTML tags to understand and basics of CSS. Explanation of SQL Server concepts and how-to’s including permissions, database management, backing up databases, restoring databases, basic query operations.

      6. Portal Roundtable

        Who should attend: Open to all Portal Fanatics!

        A constructive, open format in which to voice your thoughts on a variety of topics related to the Passageways Products.

  • “How To” Lounge (Open all day on Thursday)

    • Who should attend: Any attendee, any time, all day! A must for Portal Fanatics!

      In a casual atmosphere attendees will be able to ask questions of Passageways Staff and get “hands on” assistance on live Portals.
